(1.16 meg) (4/1/97)
- GetRight allows graceful recovery
and resuming if you are disconnected in the middle of saving a file from the web
to your PC's hard drive. (For example: if you have finished getting 95% of that
10 megabyte file and get disconnected, GetRight just finishes getting the last
5% without restarting from the beginning!) GetRight will resume connections even
if your computer was turned off while downloading, the modem was disconnected
from the wall while downloading, a telephone extension was picked up while downloading,
or any other reason you get disconnected from the Internet while downloading!

Web (2.17 mg) (3-19-97)
- Back Web is
a Push Service that allows you to select Sites from which you want to receive
news, notices, or downloads. The most useful thing I have found about Back Web
is that McAfee is one of the Companies using it. This means I can receive McAfee's
monthly virus updates automatically via their Back Web connection.
PWS "Personal Web Server" from
Microsoft (733 kb) (3-19-97)
- This allows you to set up a Web Server on your PC.
It will allow
a person to test CGI scripts on a PC running Windows 95 and will execute them
as though they were on a Web Server. Also is a must have in order for MS Front
Page to function correctly.
- adds a "Search
Button" to your Browser that lets you search from any page you're on .For

(1.96 megs) (2/27/97)
- An Application
that allows you to publish (upload) your HTML files, graphics and all, just as
you have them set on your PC. With this program as long as your pages on the server
are configured the same as the pages on your PC. It moves everything as a package
without the need for an FTP program.
- This is the program to allow you to take a look at the Active-X
files on your
Reader for .pdf files. (3.91 meg) (4/27/97)
is the Free file reader from Adobe that allows you to read those wonderful .pdf
formated text files such as those from the IRS.
News (4.64 meg) (4/26/97)
- This is one of the most amazing programs I've run
across. It allows you to select numerous options about the kind of news and information
you would like to read. (much similar to setting up your personal page with msn.com
or netscape.com) Then you can log onto the Internet and it will collect all the
things you have chosen and log off so you can read them off-line. As if that weren't
enough, it turns itself into a screen saver and selects on a rotation basis the
news or informational pieces that have been stored in the file and uses them as
the elements of the screen saver. The screen savers aren't static though. If you
happen to see something pop-up on the screen that you would like to read in full,
all you have to do is click on it and that story or article comes on the screen.
It also has areas which have URL's in them and if you click on one of them it
will fire up your browser and take you to that site. As for the information that
is available, there seems to be no limit. Business, Sports, Finance, Weather,
Entertainment, Magazines, Travel, you name it, it is there.
- Net Attache´ can be set to check on a list of
different Web Sites and return to you only the ones that have changed since your
- This is a CGI scripting program.
- This is a little program that connects to your choice of one of several world
time keeping stations and will re-set your computer's clock to match the time
of the world clock you've chosen. (pretty neat actually)
Dialer ver 2.4 (1,223kb) (10/26/96)Dunce
(or Dial-Up Networking Connection Enhancement)
- allows for much easier dial-up
networking than Win95 currently provides. The program will automatically press
"connect" for you on the "Connect To" dialog box, redial your
Internet Provider indefinitely (even from within another application), and auto-reconnect
if you get unexpectedly dropped. Furthermore it can optionally run applications
when you are connected and force connections at a given time. 2.0 Also adds MSN
Support and support for international versions of Windows. Dunce will also type
in your password in the Connect To Dialog.
- This is really great for Internet Explorer users who
email accounts and don't know if they have mail waiting unless they use their
mail client to go check each. It allows you check up to 5
POP (email ) servers and lets you know how many messages that you have waiting.
It places an icon on your taskbar, with a click of this icon, a window pops up
with the headers of all the messages waiting for you. Future updates will allow
deleting and printing. Give it a try and see if its worth adding to your software
