Adding a secondary DNS
A secondary DNS entry will keep you on-line if the primary DNS server ever
goes down at ECS. To set up the secondary DNS for your Windows 95 machine
follow these instructions:
Print this out and do it off line

Disconnect from the server and close all windows

Click START, PROGRAMS, ACCESSORIES, then DIAL-UP
SCRIPTING TOOL

From the dial-up scripting tool window, make sure CSS is highlighted
then click PROPERTIES

On the CSS Window, click SERVER TYPE
-
On the Server Type Window, click TCP/IP SETTINGS
-
On the TCP/IP settings window, make sure SPECIFY NAME SERVER ADDRESSES
is marked
-
The primary DNS should already be 206.154.12.1
-
On Secondary DNS enter 206.154.12.5
-
Click OK on the TCP/IP settings window
-
Click OK on the server types window
-
Click OK on the CSS window
-
Click CLOSE on the dial-up scripting tool window
-
Now are now done!
Or if you have installed the Microsoft ISDN Accelerator Kit 1.1 Files,
follow these instructions instead:

Disconnect from the server and close all windows
-
Click START, SETTINGS, CONTROL PANEL then NETWORK
-
From the network, make sure TCPIP is highlighted then click PROPERTIES
-
On the DNS Configuration tab, click under DNS Search order.

Enter 206.154.12.5
-
Click the ADD button
-
On the TCP/IP settings window, make sure ENABLE DNS is marked
-
The primary DNS should already be 206.154.12.1
-
Click OK on the TCP/IP properties window
-
Click OK on the network window
-
Now it will prompt you to restart your computer, Click "OK" to do
so

Now you are now done!
