Microsoft Office 97 For more information about these patches check the Microsoft Office site at http://www.microsoft.com size 8682 Kb date 10-1-98 This patch is only necessary in the older versions of Office 97. Special note: This is an "FYI" more than a warning describing a situation I personally went through when upgrading my copy of Office 97. There is a problem with updating Office 97 that I encountered. When I updated Office 95 to 97, I got an error on starting Access that stated "a license cannot be found on this machine, Access cannot start". I then went to microsoft support online, searched for the exact error message in the natural language query, and found a fix for it. I was then able to run it with no problems. I was also able to upgrade to Service Pack 1 with no problems. When I upgraded to Service Pack 2 however, none of the apps would work properly. I then reinstalled office 97 and did not get the Access license error, then up0graded to Service Packs 1 and 2 with no problems. I reported these problems to Microsoft buit they haven't been very forthcoming with answers and I haven't pushed it since I don't have any problems now. |
