Nakajima B5N2 - "Kate"
This aircraft is also known as the Kate Torpedo Bomber. It joined with the Val and the Zero in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. This particular airplane was built for the moveis, Tora! Tora! Tora! It had to be built because all of the originals were destoryed by the US during WWII.
Since the airplane has a long name. it was shorten to "Kate" for the convenience of the "spotters". General Douglas MacArthur had directed that all enemy aircraft be renamed. The bombers were given women's names and the fighters were given men's names.
